iPad 2 New Features

The iPad 2 is getting a lot of attention, and it's all thanks to the following featured:

1. It's THINNER by 33%.  That makes it easier for you to bring around!
2. It's FASTER with 2xA5 chips.  This means you get double the time you need to process data in comparison to the first iPad.
3. TWO CAMERAS makes internet calls much easier.  It's not my favorite feature, but those loving internet calls would love this!
4. SMART COVER will make the iPad 2 wake up when a magnetic enclosure is lifted, and it will otherwise when the enclosure is closed. This means battery is saved.
5. 10 HOURS battery life span would make it one of the most portable tablets available in the market.
6. Of course it's made LIGHTER for you to bring around.

Apple Sues Samsung

I largely expected this to happen when I knew Samsung was producing 'Apple' alike phones in the Galaxy S phone.  Call Apple 'stupid', but it really doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that if you ask someone to build your ideas, they would eventually steal it, and this was proven in Samsung and Apple battle.  Hey, I'm not implying Samsung did steal Apple's designs and patent, but there are HUGE similarities in their products. As a user of both products, I guess it's now time to sit back and relax, and look at these tech giants lash at each other.

Window 7 past 25% market share barrier

The news from Microsoft is that Windows 7 has not past the 25% market share barrier with Windows XP ownership slowly declining in its presence worldwide.  The stats come from Statscounter.com

and it is widely believed that Windows 7 will soon rapidly replace Microsoft's Windows XP as the most influential Microsoft OS.

Windows 7, which has been touted as a worthy opponent to Apple's Mac seems to be gaining momentum of late, but most skeptics believe that the Mac still has an added advantage over the Windows, particularly in terms of branding and speed.  To help dent Apple's dominance in the mobile world, Microsoft recently released Windows Phone 7 which can be easily integrated with the Windows 7, something similar with Apple's iPhone and Mac.

No matter how it foes, time will tell who will be the winner.

iPad Plans from DiGi & Maxis

If you are planning to get an Apple iPad, two of Malaysia's major telcos are giving out the following plans for those intending to have data/internet access on their iPads:

Choose your plans wisely.  One thing good to note is that Maxis has better coverage, but when DiGi says they are giving UNLIMITED DATA.. they really mean it, which is so unlike Maxis which has an unlimited cap on their data plans.  Both telcos have yet to say when they are actually going to sell the ipads, but we think it will be very soon.

iPhone 4 DiGi Launch in Malaysia

The latest iPhone, which is the iPhone 4 is slated to be released by DiGi next week.  According to an email from the telecommunication company, data plans on the new phone will be also released next week, and those which have stated their interest will be the first to know more about the launch, the price and the DiGi package details.

Review: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

The Xperia X10 seems to be Sony Ericsson's answer to Apple's growing number of iPhone users.  It boast of touch screen capabilities, Turbo 3G ability and GPRS.  Among the features highlighted are it's extended battery life and also it's beyond average camera.  Apart from that, the phone includes an internal memory of 1GB, with an option to add in a maximum 16GB memory.

Apple with it's MacBook series is undoubtedly the most expensive, yet desirable brand of laptops around.  Malaysians have been slowly moving towards the Apple since their devices were made more affordable lately.  However, here are 5 reasons I can come up of why you should turn to Mac:

Leaked New iPhone Images

A recent blog recently said that it has found a prototype of the latest iPhone.  According to the blog, the prototype iPhone was found in a bar, and Apple has since said that they are looking to get back the phone.

It is not known how true the reports are, but the images featured in the website looks very legitimate, and a couple of highlights on the so called new iPhone somewhat proves that the phone is indeed the new iPhone which Apple has yet to release.

If this is the new iPhone design, then I believe that many soon to be iPhone users are keen to wait for its new release which I think is very futuristic and sleek.

Apple Delays Ipad's Shipment Worldwide

Apple announced that it will be delaying shipment of it's iPad to worldwide consumers to a later date due to huge demands in the US.  According to reports online, Apple will only release the pricing in May, and will continue to receive pre-bookings from customers. Apple said that the demand of the iPad was beyond expectations in the US, and this has resulted in not enough iPads being made available for the world wide market.

The delay in worldwide release of this new gadget however was received with sceptically by many users as they cited that this is Apple's marketing ploy to push sales figure of the iPad higher by making worldwide users believe of its huge success in the US.

HP unveils HP Slate

Hewlett-Packard has released a Youtube Video revealing it's latest offering which is a tablet touchscreen PC similar to Apple's iPad. The tablet pc named HP Slate is said to have better offerings if compared to the iPad although no price details have been revealed.

According to reports, the HP Slate boast a camera, a USB port and supports Adobe Flash. The Operating System for the HP Slate is said to be the new Windows 7 by Mircrosoft. Apple iPads do not support Adobe Flash due to Apple's so called 'dispute' over Adobe's Flash.

Last Saturday, Apple released that 300,000 iPads have been sold in the US since it's release and they have announced that the iPad will be available in 7 other countries at the end of this month.

Nokia Wants to Sue Apple

Nokia said that it is looking into suing Apple over the iPhone. According to a report by BBC News, Nokia claimed that it had not been compensated for its technology which is used by Apple in the production of it's iPhone. The report also claims that Nokia is accusing Apple of trying to get a 'free ride on Nokia's innovation'.

The issue has cropped up because Apple is said to be using innovations which Nokia has developed through an agreements with about 40 firms. The agreement therefore allows these 40 firms which include most mobile phone handset makers to use the firm's technology, but Apple is not one of the 40 firms.

Apple was unable to be reached for comment.
