Well, to sum it all up, here are the negative side of both plans:
DIGI iPHONE 4 PLAN:
  • Longer minimum contract of 24 months compared to Maxis 12 months.
  • Only offers 200 minutes of free talk time in comparison to Maxis's 333 minutes.
  • More expensive iphone (even after discount) for the same contract duration. DiGi offers the iPhone 4 16GB at RM1490 at 24 months contract, while Maxis gives you RM1390 for the same model and the same contract period.
 MAXIS iPHONE 4 PLAN:
  • The minimum plan for Maxis iPhone 4 is more expensive compared to DiGi.  Other plans which are comparable are also similar with Maxis having the more expensive plan.
  • Limited internet usage is given if compared to DiGi's unlimited internet plan.
  • Limited free calls between supplementary lines are offered if compared to DiGi's unlimited free calls.
  • No mention of frequent number list special rates like Friends & Family like in DiGi.
CONCLUSION:
While DiGi does seem to have the upper hand, but do remember that a lengthy contract means that you are bonded, and you are unable to downgrade your current plant to cheaper ones shall they be introduced.  For instance, many DiGi iPhone users are unhappy that DiGi reduced the 88 plan significantly within months after they launched it.  Also good to note is DiGi's FREE unlimited calls to sub-lines which are really useful for those doing frequent calls to your loved ones.  The DiGi unlimited also helps in not making u worried about how much you have used on the internet.  Nonetheless, Maxis does have better iPhone innovations with their personal Apps made available, and they are also better in coverage, particularly in the Peninsular of Malaysia.
