Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370

Sony is a huge brand when it comes to to the compact cameras and the ultimate fight would always be between Sony and camera specialist Canon.  The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370 is Sony's latest offering.

THE PROS:
Specification wise, the camera looks solid with a 14MPx resolution, a 7x zoom lens and a 3-inch LCD. The camera also supports 720p HD movie capture, and has an HDMI output for quickly connecting to an HDTV. The pricing is also right as it goes less than RM900, and the body is compact and stylish. It also comes in different colours

THE CONS:
Sony has 3 types of lens namely Sony, Carl Zeiss, and Sony G with the Sony lens being the lowest in quality. With that said, the Cyber-shot DSCW370 stands to have a lot of noise. Also, the shutter lag is a huge pain when taking photos, and I wasn't amuse with the photos produced under low light conditions.

MY VERDICT:
Although Sony does excel when it comes to producing compact cameras, more notably sexy slim ones, I felt that this camera is mediacore. I believe you'd be more satisfied investing in a Canon Ixus camera which is a little bit more higher priced.
